Thyago Calvo

Thyago Calvo

Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. His expertise includes molecular biology, bioinformatics, and gene editing, focusing on infectious and neurodegenerative diseases. He is currently investigating the potential of epigenetic editing using CRISPR-Cas9 technology to treat neurodegenerative diseases.

Patrícia Santana

Patrícia Santana

B.S. in pharmacy and a Ph.D. in biological sciences. With over 15 years of experience in basic and clinical research, she recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the UFRJ Department of Clinical Medicine, focusing on inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. She is a visiting scientist at the University of California, Berkeley, where she continues advancing our understanding of IBD.

B.S. in biological sciences from the Federal University of Fluminense, and master's and Ph.D. in neuroscience from the same institution. A researcher at IDOR, he currently focuses on neural stem cells and C. elegans.

Felipe Ptak

Felipe Ptak

Ph.D. in Physics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2020). His expertise lies in the nanotribology of two-dimensional materials, including graphene, mica, and transition metal dichalcogenides. He is pursuing postdoctoral research at the Weizmann Institute of Science, specializing in tribology and the physics of surfaces and interfaces.

Corynne Adanho

Corynne Adanho

Ph.D. in human and experimental pathology from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) in a broad collaboration with Fiocruz, a master's degree in biochemistry from the Université d'Abomey-Calavi (Benin), and a specialization in epidemiology applied to SUS Services from the Fiocruz School of Government. Her research in molecular biology focuses on understanding the needs of SUS (Brazilian Public Health System). She is currently working on cell therapy and gene editing (CRISPR), with a focus on developing new therapies for sickle cell anemia and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Carolina Pedrosa

Carolina Pedrosa

B.S. in biological sciences with a medical specialization from UFRJ and a master's and doctorate in morphological sciences from the same institution. Currently a professor at the IDOR School of Medical Sciences and a research specialist at IDOR, her work focuses on cell biology and neuroscience, with a particular interest in the long-term neurological effects of SARS-CoV-2 infection and the potential of psychedelics to slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

B.S. in biological sciences from UFRJ and an M.S. from the Morphological Sciences Program (ICB/UFRJ). He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in cell biology with research interests in cancer, apoptosis, autophagy, cell cycle regulation, high-content screening, and 3D culture models.

Paulo Cezar Santos

Paulo Cezar Santos

Ph.D. in human movement science from the University Medical Center Groningen/University of Groningen and the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), where he also received his master's and bachelor's degrees in movement science and physical education. He is a postdoctoral researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science, collaborating with the Center of Advanced Technologies in Rehabilitation at Sheba Medical Center through the Weizmann-IDOR Pioneer Science Fellowship program.

Matheus Araña

Matheus Araña

B.S. in physics from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), where he completed an award-winning bioengineering project at the Heart Institute of the Clinical Hospital of the Medical School of the University of São Paulo. He is currently a Ph.D. student in biomedical engineering at the École Polytechnique de Paris (IPP), where his research focuses on cell mechanics and medical imaging.

Pedro Alvarez

Pedro Alvarez

B.S. and an ongoing master's in physics at the State University of Campinas. His research explores the field of quantum biology, with a focus on avian magnetoreception. He uses numerical methods and quantum computers to simulate the spin dynamics of radical pair systems sensitive to weak magnetic fields.

Alice Marques

B.S. in physics from the Federal University of Mato Grosso in 2019, where her research focused on gravitation and relativity. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in physics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where she studies the human perception of quantum states of light. Beyond her scientific pursuits, she actively contributes to initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion in science.

Ph.D. in neuroscience and cognition from the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), completed in collaboration with the Oxford Center for Human Brain Activity. She also holds a B.S. in neuroscience and science and technology from UFABC. Her research explores cognitive neuroscience, focusing on the intricacies of visual perception and attention.

Filomeno Soares

Filomeno Soares

B.Sc. in physics from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in physics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). His research focuses on Raman spectroscopy and quantum correlations between the Stokes and anti-Stokes components of inelastic light scattering. In recognition of his work, he received the CAPES Thesis Prize in Physics in 2020.

Raul Corrêa Silva

Raul Corrêa Silva

Ph.D. in physics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), where his research focused on quantum optics, electrodynamics, and quantum foundations. After a year of research at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany), he is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Pioneer Science, working at the interface between quantum optics and neuroscience.

Tiago Abreu

Bachelor's degree in control and automation engineering and a graduate degree in project management from Pitágoras in Ipatinga. He continued his education with a master's and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), specializing in MEMs (Microelectronics and Microsystems). His research focuses on the quantum properties of light generated by light-matter interactions.

Gabriel Guerrer

Gabriel Guerrer

Ph.D. in physics from the Brazilian Center for Physics Research and background from experience in the LHCb experiment at CERN. Currently a postdoctoral researcher at the D'Or Institute for Research and Education (IDOR), his interests span a fascinating range of disciplines, including information theory, neuroscience, philosophy of mind, anomalistic psychology, metascience, and the development of open-source tools to study perception and the human relationship with randomness.

Julie Weingartner

Julie Weingartner

Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Morphological Sciences Program at UFRJ and a bachelor's degree in biological sciences with a focus on systems biophysics from the same institution. Since 2011, she has been conducting research at the D'Or Institute for Research and Education (IDOR), where her work explores neuroimaging, computational neuroscience, emotion, and music. she uses programming languages such as Matlab, Python, and R in her research.

Larissa Hartle

Larissa Hartle

Doctoral candidate in medical sciences at the D'Or Research Institute (IDOR) with a strong background in clinical psychology and neuropsychology. She holds master's degrees in individual functioning assessment from the Università degli Studi di Perugia, Italy, and in clinical psychology with a specialization in neuroscience from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), where she also received her undergraduate degree in Psychology. Her experience includes clinical care and supervision in neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation.
