B.Sc. in physics from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in physics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). His research focuses on Raman spectroscopy and quantum correlations between the Stokes and anti-Stokes components of inelastic light scattering. In recognition of his work, he received the CAPES Thesis Prize in Physics in 2020.
