Application of brain organoids in psychedelic research

    August, 25th 2023

With cell reprogramming came the possibility of creating specialized tissues and cell types that have the same genetic material as the person who donated the material. The three-dimensional structures formed from these cells are called organoids and represent a major scientific advance in the study of biological models.

In this infographic, we show how brain organoids can be applied to answer different scientific questions. Three studies developed in the laboratory coordinated by Stevens Rehen, a neuroscientist at D’Or Institute, who studies the effects of psychedelic substances on the brain, are presented.
