She holds a BSc and an MSc in Physics from UFMG and a PhD in Physics from UFRJ, including a sandwich PhD period at the Center for Nonlinear and Complex Systems in Italy. She is an Affiliate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and a CNPq Level 2 Productivity Fellow. Her research focuses on quantum optics and quantum information, with a particular interest in quantum imaging systems, the foundations of quantum mechanics, decoherence, and entanglement.
