The Pioneer Science initiative was conceived with the purpose of supporting the training, development and attraction of science talents in Brazil. Strategic pillars of the initiative include funding frontier research through partnerships with leading national and international institutions and developing the necessary infrastructure in Brazil.

The initiative aims to support programs with great transformative potential for Science and society. We will identify and develop promising and as yet unexplored or little explored areas of research that can translate into important advances at the interfaces between the biomedical and health sciences and other areas of science, including physics, chemistry, mathematics, computing and engineering.

We seek to develop creative and inspiring leaders, with a collaborative spirit, who challenge themselves and question orthodox views of natural phenomena.
