Paul Davies is Professor of Physics, Director of Beyond: Center for Fundamental Concepts in Science at Arizona State University and author of What’s Eating the Universe? And Other Cosmic Questions, published by Penguin. He wrote the article What is life?, based on Erwin Schrödinger’s book of the same title, published in 1944.
