The Innovative Genomics Institute (IGI) is an initiative of two of California's leading research institutions, UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco, and other prominent institutions, including UC Davis, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and the Gladstone Institutes.

Together, our scientists bring a powerful combination of experience and cutting-edge research expertise. This includes CRISPR gene-editing technology, delivery mechanisms, diagnostics, and therapeutic applications in human health, climate, and agriculture. We are also working together to explore  the ethical and public policy implications of gene editing. Our early achievements include improving the efficiency of gene editing and laying the groundwork for potential treatments for sickle cell disease.

The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is a not-for-profit research hospital dedicated to advancing physical medicine and rehabilitation. Founded in 1954, AbilityLab provides specialized care for adults and children with severe and complex conditions, including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation, and cancer-related disabilities. Affiliated with Northwestern University, the hospital fosters research and medical education collaborations on the university's Chicago campus.

Sarafan ChEM-H is an innovative research center at Stanford University that bridges chemistry, engineering, biology and medicine, hence the acronym, to explore life at the molecular level and improve human health. Its researchers address critical health challenges, including cancer, aging, and infectious diseases.

The Usona Institute is a U.S.-based medical research organization dedicated to advancing the scientific understanding and therapeutic applications of consciousness-expanding substances. Established in 2019, the Quantum Biology Tech Lab (QuBiT) is led by quantum engineer Clarice D. Aiello, an electrical and computer engineering assistant professor at UCLA. QuBiT brings together quantum engineers to explore the influence of quantum physics on biology at the nanoscale. The lab uses cutting-edge quantum instrumentation and high-tech experiments to investigate whether the quantum realm plays a role in the mechanisms of life.

Founded in 1934 in Rehovot, Israel, the Weizmann Institute of Science (WIS) is one of the world's leading multidisciplinary research institutions dedicated to advancing the natural and exact sciences.

Affiliated to the State Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation, the Foundation provides grants and support to researchers and institutions, fostering a thriving scientific research and discovery ecosystem in Rio de Janeiro.

Pioneer Science is an independent initiative at the D'Or Institute for Research and Education (IDOR). Founded in 2010 in Rio de Janeiro, IDOR is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing science for the betterment of humanity. IDOR combines cutting-edge research, professional training, and technological development in the health sciences. Its main sponsor is Rede D'Or São Luiz (RDSL), Brazil's largest private hospital network.

Since its inception, IDOR has prioritized scientific discovery and addressed critical health challenges in Brazil. By dedicating resources and encouraging researchers to explore solutions to current and future problems, the Institute has made significant contributions to public health nationally and internationally. This includes groundbreaking research on the Zika virus and its link to nervous system malformations and critical contributions to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
