Pioneer Science holds Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) meeting in Palo Alto

Advisors and the executive team discuss achievements from the current year and opportunities for future cycles of the philanthropic initiative.

Pioneer Science received, in Palo Alto, California, the Scientific Advisory Board (Scientific Advisory Board, SAB) for another edition of the Annual Meeting. The session brought together the advisors and the executive team in an agenda dedicated to evaluating the results achieved during 2026 and discussing scientific trends and new strategies for action.

The programs developed throughout the year by Pioneer Science, the opportunities, and the expectations for the future were analyzed in order to strengthen the ecosystem of disruptive science and education promoted by the initiative.

For Sergio Ferreira, scientific director of Pioneer Science, the meeting reflects the organization’s commitment to a collaborative and long-term vision.

“By bringing together different perspectives, we continue to advance Pioneer Science’s mission of connecting cutting-edge research and education to transform science in Brazil. This dialogue with the advisors is essential to guide our support for frontier science,” he emphasizes.

Workshop in partnership with Stanford

The program included a Workshop led by the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute at Stanford University, on innovative research integrating Artificial Intelligence and neuroscience. The Institute works on understanding the mysteries of the mind and behavior through cutting-edge scientific approaches, connecting different areas of knowledge and technologies.

The presentations explored how artificial intelligence can accelerate discoveries about the brain, the role of neuroimaging techniques in investigating psychiatric disorders, and the biological bases of innovative therapeutic approaches for mental health.

The meeting promoted reflections on trends in neuroscience and cognition that expanded the dialogue between Pioneer Science and Stanford, generating new perspectives for collaboration beyond the already established partnership between the organizations.
