Frontiers in Photonics publishes e-book on Quantum Biology with support from Pioneer Science

The publication brings together scientific articles released in one of the journal’s research sections

The scientific journal “Frontiers in Photonics” has launched, in e-book format, a compilation of scientific articles dedicated to Quantum Biology developed with support from Pioneer Science. The file includes more than ten studies presented in the project “Research Topics in Quantum Biology”, curated and produced by the Quantum Biology Community of Pioneer Science.

The main objective of this section is to share recent discoveries, innovative applications, and strengthen scientific debates about the relationship between quantum phenomena and biological systems. Although it is still an emerging field, Quantum Biology has great potential to promote transformations in society and human health.

The studies address topics such as:

🔹 photobiology and photomedicine,

🔹 magnetic navigation in birds and insects,

🔹 possible quantum effects related to the brain, cognition, and consciousness;

🔹 biological sensing;

🔹 electron transport in proteins and more.

Incentive for young scientists

Among the authors are young Brazilian researchers who participated in the first School of Quantum Biology, held by Pioneer Science in August 2025. The immersion promoted a scientific poster competition that offered the highlights the opportunity to publish an article in Research Topics, in order to further showcase research developed by early-career scientists.

The e-book is available for free at the link below.
