Pioneer Science and Innovative Genomics Institute launch Postdoctoral Fellowship abroad

The opportunity is to work at the University of California for research in therapeutic protein engineering

Pioneer Science, in partnership with the Innovative Genomics Institute (IGI), located at the University of California, Berkeley, announces the opening of an international fellowship for PhD researchers to experience a Postdoctoral position at one of the world’s most renowned genomics and biotechnology research centers.

The opportunity provides for a period of 1 to 3 years working on a translational research project based on engineering, expression, and purification of recombinant proteins in mammalian cell systems. The main goal is to develop and validate innovative therapeutic products with tropism for the central nervous system.

The program offers compensation aligned with the minimum wage established in the state of California, adjusted to the candidate’s experience, and covers international travel expenses.

Mandatory Requirements:

🔹 Doctorate (PhD) obtained less than 5 years ago in related fields (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, etc.), from an institution recognized by the MEC;

🔹 Minimum of two articles published as first author in indexed and peer-reviewed international journals;

🔹 Advanced proficiency or fluency in English (the interview will be conducted in English);

🔹 Solid practical experience with molecular biology techniques and culture of eukaryotic cells;

🔹 Availability to relocate and reside in Berkeley, California (USA), by the first semester of 2026;

Desirable Requirements (Differentials):

🔹 Previous experience in protein expression and purification protocols;

🔹 Familiarity with protein purification systems by chromatography;

🔹 Engineering of expression vectors.
