Unraveling the “NOEs”: a world beyond our “self”

Sixth article in the series that explores the context of non-ordinary experiences in Brazil and how they impact our population. All data were collected and related from studies conducted by the Beliefs and Values Neuroscience group at the D´or Institute of Research and Education.

In recent weeks, we have learned a bit about the Inventory of Non-Ordinary Experiences (INOE), which encompasses various types of experiences, from hearing voices without an apparent source to experiencing experiences considered as out-of-body.

But did you know that significant experiences related to emotions can also be considered extraordinary?

Today we will learn a bit more about transcendental emotions, or self-transcendence. This group of emotions is a subdivision of emotions considered positive, but with some more specific characteristics.
