FAPERJ announces the launch, on Thursday, June 26, of the rules and guidelines of the announcement in partnership with the Pioneer Science initiative.
The call (FAPERJ Announcement No. 15/2025) aims to credential scientists from Rio de Janeiro or based in the state who are covered by the Pioneer Science/FAPERJ announcement: Early Career Scholars in 2024. The project submission opening date in SisFaperj will be on July 1 and will extend until July 15.
The joint call Pioneer Science/FAPERJ is intended to support early-career scientists who are developing or intend to develop projects with disruptive potential in public or private science and technology institutions (ICTs) at the national level, in the fields of health and biomedical sciences, and in the interfaces between them and the exact sciences.
The announcement had a funding of R$ 7.2 million provided by Pioneer Science to support researchers. FAPERJ will co-finance researchers from Rio de Janeiro with a total of R$ 2.4 million.
Eligible proposers for credentialing must have been necessarily approved in phase 2 (complete proposals) of the announcement, the result of which is available exclusively on the Pioneer Science website.
In addition, proposers must prove that they are conducting their research in the State of Rio de Janeiro and that they have an employment relationship (labor) or formal functional link (such as substitute, temporary, or visiting professors or researchers) at a university, institute, or public or private research entity based in the State.
