B.S. in biological sciences and Ph.D. in biological chemistry from UFRJ, followed by postdoctoral training in the neurobiology of Alzheimer’s disease at Northwestern University (USA). Currently an associate professor at UFRJ, her research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes and other neurodegenerative diseases.
